The role in a nutshell:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer with Retreat Guru, your main job is to accelerate and support our engineers by ensuring that our infrastructure is awesome. You'll own part of the infrastructure and support our developers with amazing automated release and deployment tools.
You need to have:
- A love for growing and developing teams through code, documentation, mentoring, teaching or even organizing events like our book club lunch & learns
- Superpowers in removing obstacles, increasing collaboration and making things even better
- A huge passion for building resilient and scalable systems and processes
- Proven experience in process automation including implementation of continuous integration and deployment
- An eagle eye's view and knowledge in maintaining secure systems and the ability to assist with auditing cloud-based systems security
We know not everyone will come in fully familiar with our stack, so we want you to know that we provide support to learn on the job.
What you'll do:
- Your role will be to accelerate other engineers by removing as many obstacles as possible in how they code, test, QA and deploy.
- Managing and especially improving all things infrastructure related - such as our CI pipeline and deployment process.
- Improve our testing infrastructure and support engineers in how to write good automated tests.
- Design and implement security compliance procedures and ensure engineers are following security best practices.
- Ensuring that our tech stack and its dependencies are always up-to-date, current, and secure.
- You may help with planning and implementation of major code and database refactors.
- Work with finance to reduce expenses.
